What's the Plan?

Insanity is Like  Funnel

I was talking with a fellow Oregonian who still lives in Oregon.

He was telling me how crazy it’s become with the folks who just

can’t get past their hate for Trump.

Then I saw post on Linkedin with a guy telling the world that he did not want to do business with anyone who voted for or supports Trump.

That made me start thinking, would I turn away a client or representing someone who supported Harris? It didn’t take long for the answer to come into my head, NO.

I’ve had people boycott me and that’s their right. What I do with and for clients is pretty personal so maybe my openness would make them uncomfortable.

But if someone came to me and I knew our politics didn’t line up who cares.

I guess, as a guy who for the last thirty years, has viewed himself as a right leaning moderate, I’ve learned to never tell everything I believe. (yes that has changed)When you are a bit purple and you live in a blue state, you learn to understand what the dominant culture can handle.

I sometimes don’t think blue people understand how much the reds and purples bow to their whims in the name of getting along.(or they used to but no more)

I remember how SHOCKED some were when I ran for Secretary of State in Oregon in 2008. They  couldn’t believe I was registered as a Republican. Some despised me for it. I was a non-affiliated voter but in order to play the game I had to run as a D or an R. I’m not a D, I was when I was younger and more naive. The R’s didn’t like me much at the time either.

I did vote for Trump in 2016 and was shocked with the tears and carrying on of my friends who were already showing signs of Trump Derangement Syndrome. I didn’t talk about my vote I knew it would destroy my business.

When the reaction to COVID happened all bets were off. My wife and I made a decision we were not playing along anymore, we unmasked, spoke openly about the stupidity and let people come and go as they wished.

We did lose business. We saw how ugly people could get when hate fueled every thought, every emotion, every interaction.

Now here we are and Trump is president again. The TDS is as many in the psychiatry world predicted it would be….over the top.

My parents used to tell me to tell the truth and face the consequences. I’m understanding that more each day.

I do not hate the left or the progressives. I think their policies are damaging and will speak out against them every chance I get, but I don’t hate them.

I hate their reaction, their meanness and their hellbent need to destroy those who disagree with them, but I don’t hate them.

The insanity we are witnessing right now goes beyond anything I could ever imagine.

As my friend said it’s like a funnel that grows bigger at the top and more narrow at the bottom.

When Biden won in 2020 many of us were irritated and concerned for our country. We spoke out about his decisions but if he’d joined forces with Musk, who was a Democrat at the time and voted for Biden, I would have applauded him finding and fixing the fraud and waste he’s uncovering.

This is the first time ever that a president has gone in and done the things he said he would do. That’s why America is behind him….he has a plan and is carrying it out. What’s the plan from the left? What fuels them? How are they going to make our lives better?  By Hating Trump and anyone who supports him? Good luck.
