The Festering Wound (DOGE)

Several years ago I went to the doctor with a terribly painful cyst on my lower back.

I’d lived with the bump just above the start of my crack for decades with no problems.

One day it got infected and hurt so badly I could not sit-down, sleep, or move without intense pain.

It was like having a pimple that someone was pushing on all the time.

I went to the doctor and he said “Rick, this is gonna hurt but we have to get all the infection out or it will come back.”

He tried to deaden the area but warned me it was still gonna hurt.

The doctor lanced the cyst and then started to squeeze and push.

I won’t describe what came out but it was ugly, disgusting, nasty material showing the depth of my infection.

I screamed so loud the entire clinic heard me.

It took 15 minutes or so to get it all out.

He told me in order to keep the infection from coming back all the infection had to be removed. He also warned me it would leave a hole that I would always be able to see.

That’s what’s going on in this country right now.

For decades our nation has had this cyst of lies, manipulation and corruption which had created an infection on the inside. On the outside some knew there was a bump but it was easy to ignore.

But then that bump turned into a huge infection that spread throughout government, creating a disgusting mess that smelled to high heaven.

Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the Musketeers come along and say If we don’t squeeze and lance the wound, the infection won’t go away. If we don’t put pressure on the cyst, once lanced, we won’t be able to get all the crap out and we’ll have to do this again.

Some people would just as soon live with the bump and work around the infection. They don’t realize the infection is spreading and if we let it go, it’s going to kill us. But still they don’t want to pay the price and would just as soon ignore it and go back to working around it.

But on November 5th most of America said “Okay, let’s lance the boil and get this over with” and that’s what is happening.

I know some will lose their jobs and I know cuts are painful.

But you can’t keep living with an infection that will eventually kill you.

I remember the scream when the doctor applied the pressure to that tender wound. It did hurt horribly. But the cyst never came back.

Take what you want from that analogy. But remember right now we’re still in the squeezing portion of the treatment. Relief is a long way away so don’t hold your breath, breathe deeply and push.
