What if He/They Can Keep Us From Thinking?

I”m reading a book called Outwitting the Devil.

It’s a difficult yet fascinating read.

It’s based on the authors alleged conversation with the Devil.

He asks a series of questions to learn how evil takes over the mind of people.

You’ll never guess the main tactic used? Fear.

If I’d read this book five years ago I’m not sure it would mean what it does to me right now.

The book exposes how fear is the gateway to this evil character in the book taking over the minds of 98% of those walking the face of the earth.

The Devil tells the author people are lazy and don’t want to think and that’s what makes them susceptible to his takeover.

The folks he has the most trouble with are what he calls the “Drifters”, those who think for themselves and take nothing at face value.

The Devil says “I cannot exist in the minds of those who think accurately. I do not mind people thinking as long as the think in terms of fear, discouragement, hopelessness and destructiveness.” He goes on “When they begin to think in constructive terms of faith, courage, hope and definiteness of purpose, they immediately become allies of my opposition, and therefore lost to me.”

I have long thought this battle is more than two parties, two ideologies and differences of opinion. But I have not wanted to articulate my theory of good verses evil.

But the way some of our leaders handled the pandemic got me thinking.

There was something unrighteous about that response and the way it was demanded not requested.

The sign of an authoritarian is when they force people’s will not ask them to follow willingly.

Drifters are dangerous to an ideology that seeks for force its will and ideas on people.

When fear is used to manipulate or get a result, that result is never righteous.

We are created to be free and the powers working against us want to make sure we live in fear so they can control the narrative and our future.

I don’t believe one party is any better than the other.

Power is their goal and bringing us along for the ride, the method of gaining that control.

But I do believe there is a right and a wrong, a good and an evil.

And right now, if this story were not fiction and in fact true, I’d say our culture is suffering the results of mind numbing fear and if we fail to wake up and think for ourselves, we will lose what we have.

The bible tells us to “Fear not because fear brings on more evil.”

Fear is the doorway to death.

Time to shut it for good and fight for the freedom of choice to live, say and be what we want.
