Sink Or Swim?

Different Realities

Wow, a cork blew off that one didn’t it?
Trump slaps tariffs on, the markets react and so did America.
It’s interesting to see how differently people take on the battle over solvency.
I used to think we could find agreement but just when you start to see something as “common sense” one realizes sense is no longer common.
I think most of us understand our nation is basically broke and making play money.
We are so in debt and have been for decades, and despite the cries from our lawmakers to “balance the budget” these words drip from the mouths of people who are the least trustworthy when it comes to understanding anything about “balance.”
Most of you hang out around here so you know how I feel about the topic.
I’m watching my 401 do things I don’t like but I’m willing to give Trumps idea a go, because to me it makes sense and I don’t see any other ideas that do. Doing the same thing over and over again, wreaks of insanity to me.
I know some of you disagree, but hold your tongue for a minute and resist your urge to call me a name or attack me with your intelligence and superior knowledge.
Truth is none of us knows how this is going to work out. But what options do we have right now?
Some of you don’t want DOGE finding the waste and fraud in our system. By the way it’s our money they’re wasting.
Okay, you believe Musk and Trump are lying. We have an imbalance in trade with other countries that’s anything but fair, how would you solve that problem?I mean it, how would you? Or do we just keep allowing other countries to rip us off?
It seems to me wasting our money is wrong and allowing other countries to put tariffs on us but not returning the favor is bad for my 401k too.
This takes me back to the workplace of my past. There’s always that one person (no names) who no matter what idea you come up with, finds a reason to criticize it. But when asked he/she has no ideas to reform it.
I had a boss at KEZI. When someone would come in to complain about something going wrong in the newsroom he’d ask them “What’s your solution?” If they couldn’t answer, which they usually couldn’t, he’d send them out the door until they could come back with one.
People just want to complain and fear opens the door to the easy way out. There is no easy way out of this mess we have created.
It seems to me a lot of people fall into that category right now. We’re on a sinking ship and we have a guy at the helm who’s saying “here’s a way to plug the hole and stop the bleeding”. And there you are on the sidelines saying “No, stop plugging the hole it might not work.” But you have no plan and the ship takes on more water. Would you rather we sink or should we swim.
Trump might be wrong and some of you are praying he is because you hate HIM so much.
I’m looking at the health of our country and saying to myself, this plan is better than doing nothing.
Sink or swim…..I’m gonna choose to swim.
