Remember When?

Remember when freedom of speech used to be so important we fought for the right to say what we needed to say?

Remember when people from opposite sides of an issue could sit-down and discuss those differences but still get along?

There was a time when fairness mattered and cheating was deplorable.

Not that long ago we had seminars and anti bullying campaigns and shunned those who used such tactics.

A few years ago the “Choose Kindness Campaign” was all the rage in places like Oregon.

We had bumper stickers that preached the value of Open Minds (like parachutes) and Coexistence.

Our legacy media didn’t choose sides it presented both and trusted you and me to make the right decision.

Opinions were left to the editorial pages of the news, not broadcast as news.

Remember when you could tell the difference between good and evil.

When right was right and wrong, wrong.

We used to believe “live and let live” was more than a Paul McCartney and Wings song it was a lifestyle worth fighting for.

The lines are blurred.

Evil is now seen as good by some and good is evil.

Right is wrong and wrong is right.

Fairness doesn’t matter.

Censorship is a weapon.

Kindness is a joke and bullying a must if you seek to gain control of a conversation.

We no longer trust people to make decisions we manipulated to create outcomes that reflect our point of view and to hell with everyone else.

Open minds….the parachutes all have holes in them.

And the news media has taken a side, fairness, objectivity and equal time don’t matter.

If you feel as though the world is tipped upside down that’s because it has.

They want us to be silent and go along for the ride.

It’s time to step off the Merri-Go-Round of Insanity and take a position.

Not necessarily a candidate but a choice between right and wrong.

You have no use you are now part of the problem.

Take off the blinders freedom is still worth fighting for.
