Peace Or A Sword?

He Didn’t Come To Send Peace but a Sword

Sponsored by CrisDental Eugene

Around the holidays we hear plenty about peace on earth goodwill towards men.

But when I read the words of Jesus I hear Him say he did not come to bring peace but a sword.

In other words, this life we live is a battle not a cake walk.

Now before some of you jump down my throat let me explain.

Jesus is here today to show us the difference between good and evil.

Yes, in culture but more importantly to discern sin in our own lives.

I recently heard on a podcast a different definition of what it means to sin.

To sin quite simply means to miss the mark.

The Sword Christ brings is not only to use to fight for righteousness in our world but to do the same thing in our own lives.

We get caught up in rooting out evil in society but often forget the sword starts in our own personal lives.

Christmas is close.

We forget that when Jesus came to this planet all Hell broke loose.

Rulers tried to kill him.

I’m sure his parents were scorned for not being married and being pregnant.

The world was in an uproar.

Peace, whether on earth or in our own lives is something we have to fight for.

It’s not something we sing or see on a card and it somehow magically happens.

2025 is a defining year. The pursuit of peace is on the minds of many.

The desire for truth seems to be on most of our wish lists for the future.

But evil will not give up easily.

It’s not up to Trump to make this happen.

It’s up to the American People to fight for what is right and I think we can do it.

But it’s going to take a sword, a shield and the armor of God to find it.

Good things are ahead but are we willing to cut out some of our expectations in order to make them happen? I hope so.
