Oh, For The Love of Silver

Sometimes it feels like I live in a fog or trapped under a blanket of clouds.

We went to a Christmas Eve Service in Helena the other night.

A friend told me about the community service and since we don’t attend a church building, we thought let’s give it a try.

Something happened in that service that surprises me even three days later.

I’m gonna hold off on telling too much about that personal experience between me and my Maker.

Some things are too personal to put out there for the general public because people tend to draw conclusions, offer advice or congratulate  you for things and while well-meaning, tend to take away or mislead what really is happening.

Anyway, I’ll just say God whispered to me some things I’ve needed to hear for a long, long time.

Why now? I have no idea but am willing to keep my heart just a little exposed if it means I find out.

The problem with leaning into God is He starts exposing weakness. I hate when that happens because it usually means a mix of correction, humiliation and no more procrastination.

I learned to study the Bible from the Hebrew perspective. I find it to be the most true to my maker since He is Hebrew. In the daily reading today out of Hebrews I ran across this thought: 13:5,6.

“Let your way of life be without the love of silver, and be satisfied with what you have. For He Himself has said “I shall never leave or forsake you.”

So that we boldly say “God is my helper, I shall not fear what man shall do to me.”

2025 brings hope to many or us but we must not allow our hope to be in man, a man, the ways of man or in a political system.

It’s good to have high expectations but also to remember the human limitations.

“One Nation Under God” is pretty clear.

It’s not one nation under congress, Republicans, Trump or the right.

It’s One Nation Under God….God can use all things for good but remember evil is always lurking in the background tempting us with silver.
