Back In Oregon producing season two of The Truth About Timber
Kathy and I are in Southern Oregon producing season two of The Truth About Timber.
I’ll be out shooting for the next four days in 100 degree temperatures.
Kathy found us a great place to stay in Downtown Jacksonville just four miles from Medford.
Sitting in the airport today I wrote the following. If you are interested take a look and leave a comment.
Oh, we were eating at this great spot called "Rogue Salad Co." When this guy walks up to me and says "Hey, I know you. I really like your Youtube Channel."
That's something that is pretty fun about being back in Oregon.
Deeper Connections
Sitting in SeaTac waiting for a flight to Medford and I’m fighting back tears.
I’m scrolling through instagram watching inspirational reels.
I’m a sucker for them.
One is of a young man who carries a music system on one of those one wheeled skateboards you balance. He goes to parades, street fairs and old folks homes and sings songs to them.
You watch the looks on the people’s faces and how happy it makes most of them.
Oh, there are a few who give funny looks but for the most part this young man brightens the day of so many people by surprising them out of their comfort zone.
The other videos that really get to me are the kindness clips.
In one, they stage a person who pretends to be lonely, afraid or in need of help.
The clincher is when some random stranger goes to the aid of the person.
SeaTac is packed with people, I’m in one of those rocking chairs, with tears coming down my face trying to keep the snot from running like a faucet.
I need more of the sappy, happy in my life.
It makes me feel alive, it makes me feel something.
Back in line waiting to board a plane people rush here and there with a numb look on their faces.
My mind goes back to the videos.
Sometimes we need to be startled out of the mundane in order to remember what life should be about.
With all thats happening in the world we have the opportunity to laugh and smile more.
What makes you come alive? What makes you cry? What are you willing to change to find a better life?
Anyone know why there are so few posts from Rick? I miss reading him.
I’ve thought more about what you wrote the day someone shot Trump’s ear. I have searched your writings for any outrage from you on children being murdered in schools or the violent threats against poll workers and election officials by Trump supporters-I can’t find any and I wonder why?
Then my buddy reminded me that Trump made fun of Paul Pelosi after he was attacked in his house. I couldn’t find anything from you on that.
Why not?
