America: On The Edge of Failure

Writer: Rick DancerRick Dancer

It’s As If Some Want America To Fail

It’s such a weird time to be alive.

We finally have someone in charge who is trying to right this ship we are sailing without a rudder and because he is doing it the hard way, not their way, opponents do all they can to stop him.

There are others who simply don’t like the man but they aren’t laying traps to snare him. They may disagree with him but they aren’t trying to get in his way, I can respect that.

We know we are in debt, about to go bankrupt if something isn’t done but some seem unwilling to do the hard things that need to be done in order to get us upright.

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me in many ways it’s the American way. We live outside our means, spend money on things we can’t afford, drive up our debt and wonder why we’re insolvent.

We have a segment of our population who thinks with its heart only and forgets God gave us a brain that is designed to work in conjunction with the heart to keep us from making bad decisions.

“If it makes us feel good it must be good” seems to be the rallying cry and now we come to a place where it’s clear, to some of us, this isn’t going to last.

Either we make the cuts or the cuts will make us.

Those same people do all they can to stop the president and then turn around and blame him when his plans don’t work. How can he do what he said he would do if at every juncture theirs another roadblock.

It seems past generations put America first. I don’t mean just in terms of the world but in terms of their own whims. Those who seek a national spirit know that’s what holds a country together.

People from all over the world come here because they see what we have compared to what they have back home.

Perhaps we’re spoiled and unappreciative. Maybe it’s a lack of understanding how bad our debt situation is in this country.

There’s so much misinformation about what’s going to be cut and what’s not. It doesn’t help that a visceral hate for Trump, by some, fuels the fire.

Just when I think people are coming around I’ll read a thread of comments so full of hate, anger and bitterness that my hopes are crushed, momentarily.

Then I see those who were silent a few years ago, speaking up. I see people who can lose everything by taking a real stand, not riding a fence, but speak up and out.

Patriotism is no longer a culturally repulsive word to the masses.

Pushing against those who seek destruction of our laws, ideals and national spirt is on the rise.

I believe there are those who seek to destroy our nation but most, even those who fight us now, are just misinformed but that too can change.

I find the hardliners unwilling to move but many, from behind the scenes are building bridges not burning them and that is a sign to me that America is on its way back.
