A Time Such as This.

Such A Time As This

If you pay much attention to the headlines you might wonder whether the world is coming to an end.

Our food costs are the highest they’ve been in 30 years.

The cost of driving your car, heating your home and feeding your family is unbearable for many.

People are working two jobs just to pay the bills and stay afloat.

And yet off in the distance the cultural message rings a dull tone that things are better, is your life better?

It’s easy to get depressed or at least nervous about the future but what you have to remind yourself is you were born for a time like this.

Yes, from the beginning of time our creator knew this period of stupidity and ignorance would cover the planet.

He understood the need to have fact-checkers, discerners and people who can see what some call common sense even though you and I know sense is not common in these harsh times.

What you have to look at is the bigger picture.

He knew there would be people like you and me who would stand up to the madness.

He has a plan and if you travel 30k feet above all of this you start to see the lies catching up to the liars and decades of mismanagement and misinformation unravelling.

Every bad headline is another thread ripping apart a message of failure and I believe America is waking up.

The latest polls show even Oregonians no longer trust the current administration.

The curtain is falling and the wizard behind it is being exposed.

We live in a culture that uses its heart to make decisions and forgets God gave us a brain to bring balance to our thoughts.

Our government talks a lot about problems and solutions but most are empty slogans designed to appease us and tickle our virtue signaling muscles in the name of false compassion.

So today remind yourself this moment is not a mistake. From the beginning of time God had a plan and things are on track as long as we each do our part.

The real enemy is not a party or an ideology it’s apathy.

Together we can ward off all kinds of evil, but we have to work together.

So remember,  you got this. You were created for a time like this.

Our pastor preached a powerful message this past Sunday on this very subject. God placed us right here, right smack in the middle of this time, so we could and would stand up to the craziness and sin that is being touted as "better". You, Rick, are so in tune! Thank the Lord for you!

I found this quote to help remind me that worry does nothing: Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but you don't get anywhere.

I also believe if we could open our hearts and minds to listening to others, not be judgmental, and find those beliefs that we hold in common, we would be surprised at the things we have in common. Our life stories have shaped who we are, without knowing that we truly don't know someone. It doesn’t mean we agree on everything but we could go much farther in addressing the concerns of today by working together.
