A Return To Innocence?

Not Everyone Has Lost Their Innocence!

Sponsored by CrisDental Eugene

We live in messed up world.

The Olympics make fun of one particular religion in their opening ceremonies, we have men pretending to be women and destroying women’s sports and you have some who stand up for a man beating up a woman at a world wide event.

I could go on and on but you know all of this and if you don’t you are part of the problem.

Last night Kathy and I went to the Townsend Montana Rodeo.

We looked around at all the young families and saw that innocence we remember growing up.

Little kids running around with little parental supervision, because it’s safe here and if mom and dad didn’t have an eye on you, one of the neighbors do.

There were ranchers and farmers and business people catching up on the latest talk of the town.

During rodeo many of the class reunions happen because everyone comes home for rodeo.

I had to laugh when I saw kids hanging on the fences and railings near the rodeo show area.

No one was telling them to get down.

No signs warning of death and destruction.

Here, you take care of yourself and a few bumps and bruises, if you fall, is part of growing up.

I remember growing up more like this.

Sure, we’ve advanced and wear bike helmets as do the bull riders and bronc buckers.

But common sense is still common in Rural America, you can’t say that for city dwellers or urbanites.

The reaction to COVID robbed us of something important.

We gave more power to the powerful and produced a weakness in culture that gave folks the right to mind our business rather than minding their own.

This upcoming election is so important.

We need people in charge who make sense.

I can put up with an exaggerator what I can’t tolerate is a liar.

There is a Trump rally on Friday here in Montana. It’s just an hour from our home.

I didn’t go see him when he came to Eugene last time around.

Many of my more liberal friends did, which I found interesting.

They wanted to experience what this was all about to better understand.

Some did, many didn’t.

So this time Kathy and I are gonna go.

So, the way I see it, we each need to do our homework.

We’ve seen what happens when we allow fear to gain a hold on our decisions.

I don’t think any of us can afford to do that again.

There’s a part of me that thinks we can get back to some of our innocence.

People are tired of the crazy.

Perhaps that’s what it takes to get us off the couch of apathy and into the arena of involvement.

I hope so.

Maybe you should quit “doing your own homework”, as you clearly have no have no media literacy. It is simple to check trump’s lies and there are many independent fact checkers doing this for the sake of truth out there. If you think trump isn’t lying, you are a complete idiot (to the surprise of no one). You flagrantly push lies every time you post something. Get a clue. And ask god for forgiveness because YOU ARE A LIAR.

So much misinformation, Mr. Dancer (as usual). Regarding the Olympics:

It was NOT the Last Supper. It was a depiction of a Bacchanal based on the ancient Greek god Dionysus, because you know, the Olympics are ancient and Greek. These are the actual FACTS about the opening ceremony.

Unfortunately, most people have no clue about Greek (or Roman) Mythology, unless they took an elective in college or learned on their own or in high school (which is where I learned about it). The Olympic organizers should NOT have done this without being more obvious about what story they were ACTUALLY depicting. They blew it! Using a narrator during the depiction to mention this was a Pagan Bacchanal Festival (for those…
