I met The Starr

Growing up my dad always sang the praises of Dr Albert Starr. Doctor Starr is star in the medical world for developing lifesaving open-heart surgery techniques.

Starr was the featured speaker at an event last night. I was invited to present a 10-minute piece on our documentary on Senator Mark Hatfield at that event.

While I stood near the doctor I heard several people lean over and thank Dr Starr for saving the life of a relative.

As started my talk by saying doing the same for my father, twice. Over his lifetime my dad had two major open-heart surgeries by Starr and his team.

Dad died in 2008, years after those surgeries and he didn’t die of heart disease.
