I know a lot of places are selling brand new, ready made Halloween costumes, but where’s the fun in that?
Growing up we used to love going to Goodwill and figuring out what we were going to be by what we found on the store shelves.
When Kathy and I were dating, we had the greatest Halloween parties. I lived in an old house with my friends so we’d take all the furniture out of the place, bring in old hay bales and stick dry ice in the corners of the room.
We had some pretty cool parties in those days. Kathy and I would run to Goodwill to find costumes. Rarely did we know what we were going to be; it all depended on what we found. For us, that was half the fun.
My youngest son and his mom dressed up for Halloween last year. Kathy got her custome from the Halloween Super Store Goodwill.
I know it’s easy to buy an already made costume but remember, when you shop at Goodwill, the proceeds from what you buy helps people in our community.
This is also a good time to clean out your closet and get rid of some of those 80’s clothes that you will never wear again, Please Don’t Wear Them Again.
Your donations to Goodwill provide much needed job services to people in our community who are trying to better themselves by finding a new job.
