OSLP/Full Access: You should have seen it — Oh, you can (video)

Last year Full Access and Oregon Supported Living program Clients walked in the Eugene Celebration Parade and those on the sidelines didn’t really know who we were. This year, they knew and showed great appreciation for our agencies and our people.

Take a few minutes to watch this video of what happened.

We’ll be back for the Springfield Christmas Parade and who knows, maybe even the Rhody Festival Parade in Florence, Oregon.

Remember to “Look Me In The Eye.”

There is nothing like walking in the Eugene Celebration Parade and seeing people respond to our clients with the Oregon Supported Living Program and Full Access. A few weeks ago we kicked off a campaign called “Look Me In The Eye.” We went on TV, radio, newspaper and the internet with a message for all of us to look people in the eye. What we know is that the general population often wants to do the right thing when it comes to dealing with people with disabilities but we don’t know exactly what to do. Our clients tell us the best thing to do is just “look them in the eye.” The message worked. Spend a few minutes watching this video to see why. But don’t let it end here. Today, if you see someone who is different from you, “Look Them In The Eye.”

  • That's right Rick always look people in the Eye when speaking to them. I am proud to be part of the Look me in the campaign speech. Let me know when to do this again okay?
