Who Counts?
“It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the Strong man stumbles, or the doer of deeds could have done it better. The credit belongs to the man in the Arena, whose face marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives Valiantly….who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his Place shall never be with those cold timid souls who have never known Victory or defeat.”

Sorry, Rick, your equation of self with Teddy Roosevelt just does not fly. There is not enough dust, sweat and blood to mar the brilliance of your pretty anchorman face. Spend a few summers as a ranchhand in Eastern Oregon, and maybe that will create the image Teddy had in mind.
Just a quote a like Thomas. Let’s leave the face alone.
Thomas,
You are making assumptions about Rick that are not correct. Yes, you may make those comparisons of some of the politicians, from the past. But, Rick is not one of them. He is real and does not compare himself to Teddy Roosevelt or anyone else. In fact, Rick considers himself a common man and relates to common man issues. That is who he is and precisely why he will a SOS for all people. Susannah
Thomas, I did pick berries, cukes and beans as a kid. I raise pigs and goats, now. I worked my way through college at a lumber yard. Does any of that count?(Smile)
Yes Rick, done all that as any typical Oregon kid. Also did the working through collge. Now what are your qualifiations for SOS? I urge every prospective voter to listen in to the debates Oct. 2 and Oct. 24 and make up your mind.Is Rick or is it Kate who can best serve us in the office of SOS.
I’d really like to listen to the October 24 debate between Rick Dancer and Kate Brown. Can anyone tell me where and when it will be broadcast? Will it be on TV and/or Radio?
