What If

IMG_0451What if I have no clue as to what God is up to? What if when Elohim created the Heavens and the Earth, finished with Adam and Eve and started thinking about the rest of us, He said; “Ah, I have a plan for this one.” What if as He wrote my name on the line next to June 29, 1959 He said this one I will name Rick Dancer. Richard means lion hearted. But I will have to prove to this one that He is as I say. It will not be easy. I will put him in a place that makes him uncomfortable, I will give him a large audience, I will take it away, put him in a place where I can remove what needs to be removed and a platform(politics)and then in, let’s say, 2010, this one will come down with Cancer. But by the time Richard the lion hearted reaches this point he will understand something that he cannot put words around or even explain. All that I have given Richard will get him through this time. At first it will devastate him but I will be with him. I will pull him up when he falls down and lift his eyes when they look in the wrong direction. It will not be easy but easy never reveals the heart of a lion.

A friend wrote me the other day and said this;

I love you man!  I’m so proud of you for seeking God with such raw passion, and for also directing the love that He gives you (Romans 5:5) towards others with such enthusiasm.  If you keep your attitude and love for God burning so brightly, you may very well inspire others to actually want affliction because they will see what grace it can bring.  I hardly say this to people because it sounds so cliche, but God Bless you man, because by saying that i feel like i am in agreement with Him.

God ordained this moment in my life long before Moses, Jacob or Joseph. This is not a mistake this is an opportunity for me and my Father to connect in a way reserved for me.

What if?

  • Hi Rick,

    I just wanted to let you know that I admire your strength and trust in God to get you through this time. I need to be encouraged by stories like this as I am dealing with Diabetes, Grave's Disease, and a vision impairment. It would have been very easy for me to give up, as my mom did, and that is why she lost her battle ten years ago. I will be praying for you and your family that God will continue to give the strength you need as you fight this terrible disease.

    I have admired your work ever since I saw you on KEZI over 15 years ago. I saw your story when you went to the orphanage in Romania and you cried when you had to put the baby back in the crib. I cried with you that day. That was genuine caompassion. I also heard you sing with a gospel choir once and I worked with your wife once at a youth event where we took some troubled teens christmas shopping at Walmart a few years ago. I feel like we are friends even though I don't think we have ever had a conversation. I've seen you at church a few times when you attended Eastside Faith Center.

    Always remember, God will never leave you or forsake and He will never give you more than you can handle, even when you feel like you are drowning.

    God bless you and your family,

    Jane Storms
