What Do You Believe

  • The truth…Holy Cow that is a BIG one. Without the mysteries we wouldn’t bother with the truth. Yet there is this unquenchable drive to find the truth… or are we really looking for ourselves? Seems finding God is easier that finding “Truth”. I believe God wants us to walk in faith… and not so much the truth. It would be wonderful to have the tangible truth, the absolute, the guarantee. To hold it, embrace it, knowing it could never change; and its all ours… we can believe in it, and not fear. But… how would we grow and experience what we need to get us through all eternity… a long time… Eternity… and I do not believe we will get the “truth”, the magic button that conquers all. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, and gave us His name… He even gave the truth.. His Written Word… But to know it all? Well I for one will have a whole bunch of questions one day.. sitting there next to that red chair.

  • I believe we need faith to find the truth but the truth is what sets us free not faith. I’m not talking about the truth as the world see’s it I mean the truth according to what God clearly laid out in His word. Today, the truth has been watered down by doctrine and thousands of years of “Adding” to what God designed. I wonder that a day isn’t coming when God will call us to lay aside the trappings of religion for His truth and that will be a very difficult day, not just for the world but especially difficult for those in the church.

  • My core belief is that you should, everyday touch someone in a positive way, it doesn’t have to be in a big way, a simple smile at someone who you know is having a bad day, opening a door, letting someone go ahead of you in a store line ect. With every person we pass in a day we touch their lifes in some way so why not in a positive way. We are all in the same family, no matter what our color, religious belief, political beliefs, or how much money we have. We all need to reach out to our fellow family members and try to help them, even in the simplest way. we should never judge someone because we don’t know what has happened in in their life to put them where the are today. Who knows maybe that homeless man on the street corner is really Jesus!!

  • Yes, from that perspective I totally agree with you… The truth has been tainted with the politically correct psychobabble and and some pretty way out self help books, tapes, video, magazines, and just about any form of transportable media you could imagine.

Within the churchish communities (all religions) the priorities changed during the 90′s. They became less and less interested in how many were getting saved, to how many were tithe paying members. Not to mention the glitter and fancy smancy buildings, and properties.

This is not speculation on my part… I’ve been there, at those pastor conferences and retreats. Its all about the numbers, the membership, money, and building projects. I have asked the question, “so how many people have come forward and given their lives to Jesus (in their church) in the last year”. Jaws dropped and I would ushered to the side and told that there are questions you do not ask, and demographics you do not bring up, at these retreats. So I asked, “how much of your budgets are for evangelism & training ministers and teachers” I was labeled a trouble maker, because I asked the tough questions.. and the rest is history.. and I was never invited back..

Blah Blah Blah… Can’t believe I wrote that here, almost deleted it… But I feel compelled to leave it. LOL… I’m such a naughty boy… ;-)
