Warning: Letters to the Editor may be BS

 

Here’s a little warning. I’m starting to see the political engines at work in our local paper. Many of us read the letters to the editor page and think, look at all those people who support so-and-so or such and such.

What I discovered during my campaign is campaigns write letters and get people to sign them in support of their issue or candidate. Yes, those letters aren’t necessarily from those people someone probably wrote the letter and asked them to sign it.

As the election draws near pay as little attention to those letters as possible. I read them for fun and laugh. Chances are what you see is just a letter from the staff, signed by someone who may or may not agree with what was written.

  Too bad all the games have to go on. All we want is the best person for the job. It’s good you bring things like this out in the open. Some people have no idea stuff like this goes on. Thanks a bunch.
