Cougar was a mud hole last time we were there, they were working on the dam. But it is one of the prettiest roads I've every been on. Memories: North Fork Willamette, swimming in July/Aug. becuase its to cold the rest of the year, that meadow on top, solitude, absolute beauty .................... Even for people that are either not serious bikers, or just physically not able to make that ride, go by car and drive this road. Even better, if you go by car, go towards Westfir, take the back road along the river to climb the hill from the east side, and see that cabin and meadow about halfway to the McKenzie hwy.
