Cultural Gas: Is God the Original Weight Watcher?
Does it Matter where your food comes from?
I remember when I thought organic food was a waste of money now I shop for it.
I remember when diet pop was okay now I drink mineral water.
I remember when I drank milk now I drink soy or rice or almond milk.
I remember when hot dogs with nitrates didn’t matter heck I didn’t know what a nitrate was let alone why it might be bad for me.
I remember when meat was a bigger part of my diet now I choose Tofu and Tempe more often than not.
I use to think people who ate Kosher were crazy now I think they are closer to the truth than rest of us.
What if all those hippies and earth muffins were actually hearing God and didn’t know it?
What If the way we eat really matters to God?
He told His people how to eat and I never saw the original diet revised by Him.
Oh, we blew it off when we thought the law was no longer valid (even though Jesus and the early Christians continued to follow it)
What If God really is super smart and understands the reasons we aren’t supposed to eat some things and it’s okay to eat others?
What if He came to you and told you to stop eating something would you do it or find an excuse like most Americans?
Our country is fat and sassy and we eat crap. Does any of that sound like God to you?
If it does chances are you are listening to “Cultural Gas” not God.
I’m not a food snob and I don’t think eating right will save my life but the way I look at food change the day I got cancer.
Before you get cancer you might want to think about what you’re shoving down your throat.
Or, go read the Old Testament, the diets there.
Perhaps God is the original Weight Watcher?

Actually, one of the good things about being unemployed right now is that I have to watch what I eat and how much I eat of it.
I buy a lot more vegetables now than I used to, because I know that’s the type of stuff that God likes us to eat, as it has the stuff that he’s given us.
I eat meat, but not in too large of a fashion, because I know that we need to build muscle but not clog our systems too much.
I drink plain old water, not even mineral water, anymore because I like the taste and it feels good.
It’s taking me a little time to detox my system from the old stuff I used to eat, but I feel a bit better now.
