Someone told me the reason they think people follow Rick Dancer Television.
I was doing an interview and she said all these kind words but here’s what really stuck out. She said you don’t try to make someone believe what you believe or even think how you think you just put life out there the way you see it and we get to grab on if we want to.
I love that definition and it is exactly what I want to do.
For so many years I had to follow station policy or someone else’s rules. I had to be the Rick Dancer they wanted me to be even though I never could be and when I left was told I was not a “management friendly employee.”
I think this interview with Look Me In The Eye advocate Amelia Abel really expresses for me what I want this show to be about.
Our new agreement with the University of Oregon’s Archive and Special Collections is bringing back the past and mixes well with our future plans and the whole idea behind the show.
I just got off the phone with a young man I met at 5th street public market. He was playing the piano and he’s so good. I can’t wait to introduce you to him. Now that we have our own show we don’t have to ask anyone’s permission or sell the story to a news director. I just tell the boss, that’s me, this is what we are going to do and we do it.
This week we have a great show with some new stories and some old. Sit back at your computer, watch and listen and don’t miss a thing.
If you want to watch it on television it airs Sunday at 4:30 on KEVU.
Oh, and do me a favor, pass the show onto your friends. It really does matter.
