A Great Year ahead: Not what you think
It has been a long time since I thought something big was just ahead. Big losses in life tend to make us apprehensive about taking risk, we react as if we had a sliver in our foot.
You want to run, you want to step out, but each time you land on that sliver the pain reminds you of past failures. In my case I tend to recoil, duck and cover and settle back.
I think that sliver may finally be gone. I feel like something big is ahead and “big” isn’t necessarily a big deal to anyone but Rick and God.
A bunch of stuff that used to be so important to me no longer holds me. There are things I thought I had to have to be happy and now I’ve discovered they don’t really do squat.
My business is doing well; I’ve got a new TV show coming that is not my life but just something I think you’ll enjoy. I’m working with people I really like and feel as though we can set a new standard and irritate the powers without making that our goal.
We can stand for the truth without being self-righteous because we no longer care if we win.
Times will get tougher and so will we. People are looking for real truth not some made up version creating by a public relations firm or popular opinion. Despite what we’re told truth is truth and it will set you free.
Yeh, I think it’s going to be a good year. No resolutions, no fear and no one to stop us.
Oh, and the picture is just for fun. I’m not running for office anytime soon.
Don’t Join a Gym
I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions. I read a recent report that shows most people fail to resolve anything and fall back into the same old habits.
I’ve been going to a gym for 25 years. Every January memberships soar and by February most of those folks who paid good money to workout are gone. A new report shows 50% of those who sign up for gym memberships never use them.
I guess the good news is 50% do but for how long?
Making a lifestyle change is good but we have to do them for the right reasons. New Year’s isn’t a good reason or perhaps what I’m trying to say is it’s not an important enough day to really cause us to change.
I don’t make changes in my life until I’m forced to by circumstances. Often times they are not circumstances I want to deal with.
In order to make lasting changes in our lives we have to believe in them. We have to get to a point where we are desperate for something different.
Something has to happen that causes us to believe smoking will kill us, drinking too much will bring on problems and joining a gym can actually be good for me.
Does this mean we don’t try, not at all?
But don’t go waste your money on a gym or workout equipment unless you are serious about using it.
New Years Eve
Kathy and just decided to take off Saturday and we spent New Year’s Eve in Sisters. The most difficult thing about going to Central Oregon is coming home to fog. I hate fog.
Aspen Lake Lodge is a great place to eat. We had an awesome meal. It’s located just a few miles East of Sisters and the golf, I hear, is great.
If we could find a way to make a living we would live in Central Oregon.
